Gingerbread Treats With Holiday Shapes {Inspired Kelloggs Recipe}
Rice Krispies treats have been a favourite treat for me since childhood. I'm so glad to have a little girl to teach the joys of the ooy gooy goodness of these cookies. Kellogg's sent me a list of recipes for Holiday inspiration and here is my interpretation of their Gingerbread Holiday Pops.
Gingerbread Treats
- 2 1/2 cups of marshmallows
- 1/4 cup of margarine.
- 1/2 teaspoon of rum flavoured extract
- 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg
- 5 cups of Rice Krispies Cereal
- Melt the marshmallows and margarine until smooth.
- Remove from heat and add spices and rum flavoured extract.
- Stir in the cereal, press into lightly greased 9 x 12 pan.
- Let set for about an hour.
- Press large cookie cutter shapes into the surface and cut around the outline.
- Decorate with candy and icing.
