Gingerbread Treats With Holiday Shapes {Inspired Kelloggs Recipe}




Rice Krispies treats have been a favourite treat for me since childhood.  I'm so glad to have a little girl to teach the joys of the ooy gooy goodness of these cookies.  Kellogg's sent me a list of recipes for Holiday inspiration and here is my interpretation of their Gingerbread Holiday Pops.

Gingerbread Treats
  • 2 1/2 cups of marshmallows 
  • 1/4 cup of margarine.
  • 1/2 teaspoon of rum flavoured extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg 
  • 5 cups of Rice Krispies Cereal
  1. Melt the marshmallows and margarine until smooth. 
  2. Remove from heat and add spices and rum flavoured extract. 
  3. Stir in the cereal, press into lightly greased 9 x 12 pan.
  4. Let set for about an hour.
  5. Press large cookie cutter shapes into the surface and cut around the outline. 
  6. Decorate with candy and icing.
