LYSOL'S Germ Detectives program has been created to help bridge the relationship between educators and a brand committed to preventing illness and promote good habits for children and families.
As a Preschool Teacher, I'm always on the search for relevant activities and materials that will promote a positive attitude towards health. LYSOL has launched the Germ Detectives program in 1200 Canadian schools - and reaching out to educators by offering free educational materials to download and use with children from JK - GR 2. As I previewed the "missions" or student activity books, I thought they were age appropriate and greatly complemented the Teacher Guide. Balancing the in-class missions with missions to discuss at home with parents and care-givers, is a great way to bridge classroom learning with children's home environment.
Filled with 'Missions' that connect directly to lessons in the Teacher's Guide. These Missions will emphasize various educational elements including the development of fine motor skills, problem solving, creative thinking, comprehension, reading, writing, and more.

Then they got competitive and raced through the mission of the day. We posted our answers on our classroom board and I've heard a few children reminding their friends of that a T-Rex is not a type of germ, as they giggle. Some of the kids liked the fact that at the end of the missions there is a Germ Detectives Badge to print out as well.
Verdict: I recommend checking out this fun program even if you're not an educator. There are fun and practical ideas to encourage healthy habits as a parent as well.
