Some Like It Hot, Some Like It Not With Old El Paso #LMDConnector

I was recently given a chance to taste some new Old El Paso products for review and super excited about the new EXTRA MILD Taco Kit.  It quickly became a family favourite.  I had resorted to using only half a package of taco seasoning included with the Old El Paso Taco kits purchased in the past.  My daughter recently turned 3 and decided that she doesn't like tacos anymore.  The EXTRA MILD seasoning was given her seal of approval.

The HOT & SPICY Fajita kit was a little out of my comfort zone since I'm a big wimp when it comes to spices.  I did find a new use for the leftover seasoning packets.  I sprinkle a little bit into refried beans to spice them up a bit. This works for making burritos or my Zesty Layered Taco Dip.

Zesty Layered Taco Dip

Shopping List
1 can OEP Refried Beans, 2 cups Salsa, 1 1/2 cups of tomato de-seeded and chopped,
3 green onions chopped, 1 cup sour cream, 2 cups sharp cheddar.
I quarter large tomatoes and scoop the pulp and seeds out with a
spoon.  This keeps your dip from becoming a soupy mess.
We really like our green onions so I add some to the refried beans
along with the teaspoon of taco seasoning.  Stir it up well and remember
that OEP now offers more heat options- extra mild to hot and spicy.

Salsa tops the refried beans mixture.  Normally I like to make my own,
but when I'm in a hurry, or haven't been shopping in a while, OEP
salsa is stocked in my pantry.

Top with sour cream, chopped tomato, green onion, and
shredded cheese.  I use sharp cheddar because I can get away with using
less of it while still getting great flavour.  Low fat or fat free
sour cream would be figure friendly too.
